Game Boy Pocket – Red (1996)

The Game Boy Pocket launched in 1996 as a smaller, lighter version of the original Nintendo handheld. It significantly improved the gaming experience by replacing the old blurry greenish screen with a crisp black-and-white display.

This red Game Boy Pocket has been modded to improve the screen further with the installation of both a backlight mod for easier viewing and a bivert chip to improve contrast. Whilst this has been cleaned inside and out there are a few light marks on the shell as this has been pre-loved. Most notably very light nicks on the front bottom left, bottom right, and a mark on the left above the power light. There is also very minor scratching on the lense which cannot be seen during use. See the images for details but bare in mind these are very enlarged. It has of course been tested to be working with a cartridge perfectly.
