Twitch Dibs FAQ
What is ‘Twitch Dibs’?
Twitch Dibs is a small reservation system for occasional repaired items, project pieces, badges, spares, and other limited things I may offer to viewers. It was custom built for our community.
It is not an instant checkout. When you call Dibs, no payment is taken. The item is simply reserved while I check the postage and send you the final quote.
Why does it work this way?
Postage and international shipping have become much more complicated. Tariffs, import taxes, customs fees and delivery costs can vary depending on the item and where it is going.
Dibs lets me check the postage properly before you pay, so you can see the full cost first. If you are in the UK, postage is usually much simpler. Obviously smaller items bundled with bigger ones might save on price, whereas smaller single items might be too expensive to warrant the purchase.
Why Twitch login?
Dibs is currently limited to active Twitch subscribers so limited items don’t get reserved by random visitors, bots, or people just messing about. When you log in with Twitch, the site only checks whether you are subscribed. It does not get your Twitch password, or take any control of your account. The site stores a necessary 24-hour cookie so you do not need to re-check on every product page. This is only used for Dibs access, not advertising or tracking!
What happens after I call dibs?
I’ll contact you with the final quote, including postage. If you’re happy, you can pay using the payment link or invoice. Once payment is received, the item is marked as sold and posted out. If payment is not completed within a reasonable time, the item may be released again. Any complimentary warranty offered will start from the day of receipt.
